There are four Global Distribution systems (GDSs) used by travel agencies: GALILEO, SABRE, WORLDSPAN and AMADEUS. Of these, GALILIEO is the best known system.

Our students can choose to learn one or more of these systems, which are used for checking flight availability, reserving seats on scheduled air services, car hire and accommodation bookings.

Our group sizes are small – 10 students maximum, which means our trainers can give each student in the group individual help and advice. Our success rate in the end-of-course examinations is normally 100%. Our students gain both their examination certificate and invaluable practical knowledge they will use in their first appointment in the travel industry.

The courses include:

  • Encoding and Decoding (cities, airlines and aircraft)
  • Flight availability
  • Selling air segments
  • Retrieving and amending bookings
  • Fare displays (Normal and Special IATA fares for adults, infants and children)
  • Special requests (seat, meal, wheelchair access)
  • Queues
  • Hotel and car hire bookings

There are no specific entry requirements for GDS courses, but we recommend you take Virgin Atlantic VA Level 1 course before enrolling on any of our GDS courses.
