International Foundation Year

Is this programme for you?

Designed for those students who have just completed their secondary education but whose qualifications are not sufficient to gain direct entry to university in the United Kingdom, the International Foundation Year offers you fast access to a university degree course in just six or nine months. So if you speak English as a foreign language and are seeking access to a UK university degree course, the NCC Education International Foundation Year course at Oxford House College is perfect for you. The Foundation programme is accepted by 38 British universities, including the University of Sunderland.

Course Details

The International Foundation Year course prepares you with the skills needed for higher education in the UK, combining three months English language training (optional) with short modules covering business-related subjects, computing, data handling, and cultural awareness. A special module will also introduce you to a number of specific study skills that are considered essential for undergraduate study in the UK.
An Intensive IFY study option is available to students who require more substantial English language preparation.

Minimum Entry Requirements

• Aged 17 years or older
• Completion of secondary education
• IELTS certificate with an overall score of 4.5 and a minimum of 5.0 in Writing Skills (students taking the Intensive IFY option need an Upper-Intermediate level of general English)
  If you already have IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum 5.0 in the Writing Skills module) you can start Module 2 immediately
